Industrial design rights shall protect a three-dimensional or a two-dimensional design of the whole or a part of a product to the extent that it fulfills the requirements as to the novelty and an individual character. All matters considering obtaining the protection of an industrial design on a national and global level, actions concerning with nullity procedures, as well as matters needed for the assignment of the rights and license agreement preparations, can with confidence be left over to us. 

Required documents for the registration of Design in Nepal

  • Notarized copy of a Power of Attorney duly signed by the Applicant, sealed and attested by two witnesses.
  • An Application form duly signed by the Applicant, sealed and attested by two witnesses.
  • Name of designer: Applicant whether he is the originator or designer or he has received from employer in the course of employment period, should have to mention in application.
  • Description of design along with four copies of such design, maps, drawing & particulars    thereof.
  • A certified copy of the Home or Foreign Registration Certificate along with its Notarized copy of English Translation.

If the design is yet to be registered in foreign country and applicant wishes to establish date of priority claim the filing receipt of home country must accompany the documents.
